Symantec adds former IBM public sector executive Andrew Borene to the cyber firm's national security group.

Symantec has hired former IBM public sector executive Andrew Borene as senior director of the cyber software company’s federal national security group.

Borene’s appointment was announced in a Tuesday press release picked up by the Potomac Tech Wire newsletter.

At IBM, he was a senior executive within its federal business and led corporate development functions related to the company’s i2 intelligence analysis platform. His private sector career also includes roles at Deloitte, Recon Robotics and LexisNexis.

His government service career includes time as contractor senior adviser at the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity and associate deputy general counsel at the Defense Department.
