Dun & Bradstreet hires new government lead

Dun & Bradstreet hires almost three-decade market veteran Tim Solms to head its government business.
Dun & Bradstreet has hired nearly three-decade federal IT market veteran Tim Solms as general manager for the company’s government business.
Solms will be based at D&B’s office in Reston, Virginia and lead efforts to elevate its managed service offerings in data and analytics across the government market, the company said Thursday.
More recently, Solms was vice president and general manager for Cloudera’s U.S. public sector business.
Prior to that, Solms led the global government business of Forcepoint – the commercial cybersecurity joint venture primarily backed by Raytheon.
Solms joins D&B as the company prepares to transition out of its longtime role as provider of a service that federal agencies use to identify, track and validate contractors.
The General Services Administration in March awarded a new $41.8 million contract to Ernst & Young for the development of a new system that replaces D&B’s “DUNS” system, which for decades has been used by public sector and commercial entities.
