Alion taps former MacB chief Fuchs as COO

Find opportunities — and win them.

Alion Science and Technology names Sid Fuchs as chief operating officer seven months after the acquisition of MacAulay-Brown, which he led as CEO.

Alion Science and Technology has appointed former MacAulay-Brown CEO Sid Fuchs as chief operating officer nearly seven months after the companies closed their combination.

Fuchs previously led MacB for almost eight years until its acquisition by Alion in a deal that pushed the buyer past the nearly $1 billion-annual revenue threshold.

“Sid has played a key role in our ongoing integration, reorganization, and infrastructure planning so that Alion emerges even stronger in the GovCon space with a focus on emerging technologies in ISR, electronic warfare, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, and cloud solutions,” Alion CEO Steve Schorer said in a release.

Closed in August of last year, MacB represented Alion’s first acquisition as a portfolio company of Veritas Capital, which bought Alion in the summer of 2015.

Prior to MacB, Fuchs held the CEO roles at OAO Technology Solutions and ATS Corp., both of which were acquired in 2010 and 2012 respectively.

He also led TASC as chief executive when that company was a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman.
