E3/Sentinel adds former Cybercom No. 2 to board

Find opportunities — and win them.

E/3 Sentinel appoints former Cyber Command Deputy Director J. Kevin McLaughlin to the board of directors.

E/3 Sentinel said Wednesday it has appointed retired Air Force Lt. Gen. and former Cyber Command Deputy Commander J. Kevin McLaughlin to the company’s board of directors.

In a release, CEO Andy Maner said the technology and consulting services contractor sought McLaughlin’s “acute understanding of technology, space, cyber, and other domains for the warfighter as we continue to innovate on our skills, processes, and technology for our customers.”

The McLean, Virginia-based company was formed late last year through the merger of E3 Federal Solutions with Sentinel. Private equity firm NewSpring Capital acquired Sentinel prior to that to enter the federal marketplace.

As Cybercom’s second-ranked official, McLaughlin directed 12,000 personnel and managed a $525 million budget to defend one of the U.S.’ largest information networks, provide cyberspace options to commanders and protect critical U.S. infrastructure from cyberattacks.

McLaughlin is the current director for cyber policy, strategy and security at the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.
