Lisa Bruch, telecom vet, dies at age 62

Lisa Christia Crawford Bruch, most recently a CenturyLink executive and three-decade telecommunications veteran, died on Dec. 17 at the age of 62.

Bruch spent the last 11 years of her professional career in CenturyLink’s government group and focused efforts on sharing a vision and executive strategy with employees. She held executive positions in sales, marketing, business development and acquisition.

Prior to CenturyLink, Bruch was president and CEO of The Crawford Group and provided support to Qwest and other telecommunications companies. She also held executive level positions at AT&T in its government markets and global sales group, where she led sales teams focused on emerging markets as well as state and local government agencies.

Bruch was born Nov. 28, 1956 in Detroit and her love and passion for music was recognized at age 16 with the Schenectady Light Opera Award.

She was preceded in death by her husband Steven, her father, and younger brother David Marlin Crawford. Survivors include her mother, her sister the Rev. Alma Faith Crawford and elder brother, George Henry Benn, and her beloved in-laws Roy and Barbara Bruch. Lisa was especially devoted to her niece Elizabeth Hutt-Crawford, known as “Lisa Junior,” niece Hanna Benn and nephew David Benn.

Family, friends and colleagues are invited to attend a celebration of her life at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Centreville, Virginia, on Saturday, Jan. 5th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be sent to Capital Caring Hospice Services.
