L3 adds retired Adm. David Johnson
L3 Technologies appoints retired Navy Adm. David Johnson to the leadership of one of its business segments.
L3 Technologies has appointed David Johnson, a retired Navy admiral and 36-year military veteran, as senior vice president of strategy for the defense contractor's communication and networked systems segment.
He will focus on the segment's overall strategy and lead functions such as business development, systems engineering, and key programs and initiatives. The company said Tuesday that Johnson will report to segment president Sean Stackley.
Johnson's uniformed career includes time as principal military deputy to Stackley when the latter was assistant navy secretary for research, development and acquisition. Other leadership assignments included program executive officer for submarines, deputy commander for undersea technology at Naval Sea Systems Command for undersea technology and commander of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center.
New York City-based L3 is in the process of merging with Harris Corp. and both companies expect to close that deal this coming summer.
