Navy awards $962M cyber engineering contract

Ten companies have won positions on a potential seven-year, $962 million contract for engineering and information warfare support services to the Navy for use in cyber missions across several domains.

The Navy received 25 offers in total for the Cyber Mission Engineering contract that covers work over an initial five-year base period valued at up to $898 million for all awardees. That is followed by a two-year option period and an additional six-month option-to-extend-services, the Defense Department said in its Friday awards digest.

This contract is a brand new procurement and is intended to provide for the delivery of information warfare capabilities across the sea, air, land, space, electromagnetic and cyber domains. Both Navy and Marine Corps projects will be supported, along with joint efforts that also include special operations forces.

Cyber Mission Engineering is a companion to the potential $950 million “Cyber Mission Systems, Kitting and Supplies” contract awarded in August to five companies for secure wireless communications systems.
