Stratascorp wins $210M Military Sealift Command IT contract

Small firm Stratascorp wins a $210 million contract to run computer systems of the Navy's Military Sealift Command.
Small business Stratascorp Technologies has won a five-year, $210 million contract to help operate and sustain computer systems onboard ships and in network operations centers of the Navy’s Military Sealift Command.
Virginia Beach-based Stratascorp beat out four other bids for the small business set-aside contract, the Defense Department said in its Wednesday awards digest. General Dynamics IT, through its acquisition of CSRA, is the incumbent. The contract was won by SRA International in 2013, according to Deltek data. SRA later merged with Computer Sciences Corp. to form CSRA.
The contract is intended to support MSC in its function as the Defense Department’s manager for replenishment of ships, as well as sealift and ocean transportation efforts. MSC operates a fleet of approximately 116 ships.
Work includes knowledge management, modernization, equipment management and training.
