Parsons brings together federal, infrastructure units
Parsons Corp. consolidates federal and infrastructure business units into a single structure and names a chief operating officer.
Parsons Corp. has consolidated its federal and infrastructure business units into a single structure under the leadership of Carey Smith, who has been promoted to a newly-created chief operating officer role.
The move aims to align Parsons’ offerings with its client set across the government, commercial and highly-regulated industries and also establish joint research-and-development projects, the company said Thursday.
Smith joined Parsons two years ago and has led the federal business through a pair of major acquisitions in Polaris Alpha this year and Williams Electric last year. As COO for federal and infrastructure, Smith will oversee profit-and-loss and implement Parsons’ corporate organic growth strategy.
Parsons’ realignment also sees Mike Johnson, president of infrastructure, move to chief development officer. Virginia Grebbien, corporate executive vice president and chief of staff, has been named chief marketing officer.
Smith, Johnson and Grebbien will all report directly to Chairman and CEO Chuck Harrington.
