Noblis hires General Dynamics IT veteran Chris Barnett as chief technology officer.
Noblis has hired Chris Barnett, a former executive in General Dynamics' IT services business, as chief technology officer for the nonprofit science and technology organization.
Barnett will lead strategy, direction, and management of technology, laboratories, patents and innovation programs at Noblis. The organization said Thursday he will also sponsor its network of centers that facilitate collaboration among Noblis' subject matter experts, as well as oversee research-and-development efforts across the enterprise.
He was most recently vice president of technology and CTO for the intelligence and homeland security division at General Dynamics Information Technology, the defense contractor's IT services segment.
Reston, Virginia-based Noblis cited Barnett's experience in advising, leading, and transforming both federal agencies and private sector organizations. Noblis also touted Barnett's background in cybersecurity operations, security architecture and national security policy.
