Mitre brings back Gagnon as cyber & physical security lead
Mitre Corp. brings Gary Gagnon back to the nonprofit organization as its cybersecurity and physical security leader.
Mitre Corp. has appointed former Amazon Chief Information Security Officer Gary Gagnon to the dual roles of vice president of cyber strategy and chief security officer.
This is a return of sorts for Gagnon to the nonprofit organization, where he once worked for three decades in multiple leadership roles. Mitre said Monday he will develop and lead the group's cyber strategy, as well as be responsible for physical security.
Gagnon left Mitre in 2016 to work as CISO for U.K-based satellite telecommunications company Inmarsat, then held that role at Amazon for 11 months, according to his LinkedIn profile.
His long career at Mitre prior to his rejoining included roles such as chief security officer, vice president of the National Cybersecurity Federally Funded Research and Development Center, and senior VP of intelligence programs.
