Amid busy year, MAG Aerospace moves corporate HQ to Fairfax County

Find opportunities — and win them.

Fresh off new private equity backing and an acquisition, MAG Aerospace has moved its headquarters to an expanded Fairfax, Virginia site from Sterling.

Government services contractor MAG Aerospace has moved its headquarters to an expanded Fairfax, Virginia site from the former Sterling hub.

MAG's new headquarters is at 12730 Fair Lakes Circle in Fairfax and the company will invest $5.5 million into the new site with 120 new jobs to be created as well, the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority said Tuesday.

FCEDA added the company is leasing 26,000 square feet of space at the new site. MAG joins a long list of government contractors with their headquarters in Fairfax County.

This year has been busy for MAG as the provider of aerial intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance services has taken other steps to position itself for growth.

The company in June received an investment of undisclosed terms from private equity firm New Mountain Capital, the same investment group that backed Camber Corp. until its sale to Huntington Ingalls Industries in 2016.

One month later, MAG acquired North American Surveillance Systems in a deal to bolster core ISR offerings.
