CGI takes $500M CDM cyber services order

CGI Federal wins an estimated $500 million cyber services task order as part of the government-wide Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program.
CGI Federal has won a task order with a potential value of at least $500 million for cybersecurity services to five federal agencies under the government-wide Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program.
This order covers tools and services for departments of Commerce, Justice, Labor and State; plus the U.S. Agency for International Development. Those are "Group C" agencies under the larger $3.4 billion CDM DEFEND umbrella program run by the Homeland Security Department.
CGI officials speaking on background confirmed the award first reported by Federal News Radio. The company has active job postings available for positions to support CDM program activities.
Deltek data indicates the Group C order has a total term of up to almost seven years: one base year, five individual option years and a final 10-month option period.
DHS has made three out of six CDM DEFEND awards so far, including the $407.2 million Group A order to CACI International in May and the $621 million Group B piece to Booz Allen Hamilton in February.
The $668.7 million Group E award to ManTech International was protested by rival bidder Perspecta and a decision from the Government Accountability Office is due by Oct. 10. Awards for Groups D and F agencies are due by the end of this summer.
In all, 13 primes are vying for these large task orders under CDM DEFEND, which is replacing the current CDM monitoring-as-a-service blanket purchase agreements set to expire in August.
All CDM DEFEND orders are made through the General Services Administration's Alliant contract vehicle as GSA partners with DHS to run the procurements.
