Army picks six for $45M software engineering contract

Six companies takes positions on a five-year, $45 million contract to perform software engineering and other technology services for the Army.
Six companies have been awarded positions on a five-year, $45 million contract to perform software engineering and other technology services for the Army.
Work will support the Army's Armament Software Engineering Center that focuses on weapons, training and combat support systems. Contractors will vie for task orders to develop and sustain software, plus provide process assurance and infrastructure support, the Defense Department said in its Friday awards digest.
Awardees are:
- Engility
- Envision Innovative Solutions
- Nexagen Networks
- Polaris Alpha (acquired by Parsons)
- Serco Inc.
- Universal Technical Resource Services
Envision Innovative Solutions is the lone newcomer in that group, according to Deltek data.
Engility Corp. keeps the incumbency inherited through its 2013 acquisition of Dynamics Research Corp. as does Polaris Alpha from predecessor company EOIR Technologies. Parsons acquired Polaris Alpha in May of this year.
