Sevatec brings back former CTO McKinney as 'chief solutions officer'

Sevatec said Friday it has brought back its former chief technology officer in Mike McKinney to the newly-created role of chief solutions officer to oversee its innovation team and technology investments.

McKinney will focus on the Fairfax, Virginia-based government IT contractor’s national security customers that include agencies in the defense, law enforcement and homeland security sectors.

He previously was Sevatec’s CTO between 2012 and 2015, after which he joined human resource software provider Marick Group and worked two-and-a-half years in the same role.

In a release, Sevatec Founder and CEO Sonny Kakar cited McKinne’s background in agile software development, data analytics, cybersecurity, cloud computing and IT engineering.

This is Sevatec’s second major leadership hire in almost a month as it also has added former Immigration Customs and Enforcement Chief Information Officer Steven Smith to lead the civilian business.
