L3 CEO Chris Kubasik named board chairman

L3 Technologies CEO Chris Kubasik has been elected chairman of the board of directors to complete the transition from longtime leader Mike Strianese.
L3 Technologies said Monday that CEO Chris Kubasik has been elected chairman of the defense contractor’s board of directors.
Kubasik became chief executive of New York City-based L3 in January after he first joined the company in October 2015 as its president and chief operating officer.
His transition to board chairman completes the transition at the top from L3’s longtime leader in Mike Strianese, who was formerly chief executive for 12 years and board chairman for 10 years.
Strianese was part of the leadership team that formed L3 in 1997 via a combination of business units formerly held by Lockheed Martin.
