General Dynamics gets $144M to continue battlefield IT system work

General Dynamics has received a new $144 million Air Force contract to continue the operation and maintenance of an IT system used in the battlefield.
General Dynamics' mission systems business has received a $144 million Air Force contract to continue the operations and maintenance of the U.S. Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation Systems Extended system.
It is known as "US BICES-X" and is a federated trusted network environment infrastructure.
This award was a sole-source acquisition, but GD first won the work in 2015 as part of a competitive process. That 2015 contract was for eight years and up to $881 million.
The new award extends the contract out to March 2024. The system consists of hardware, software, communications and integrated processes that enable collaboration among the United States and foreign partners.
