Peraton books $41M Navy munition removal contract

Peraton has received a potential five-year, $41 million contract from the Navy to continue the company's support of efforts by the U.S. military to remove unexploded munitions on land and at sea.

This is Peraton's 10th consecutive award to support the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Program Management Office dating back to 1983, the company said Wednesday. Peraton is the former IT services business of Harris Corp. that rebranded in July of last year after its acquisition by Veritas Capital.

The contract covers onsite engineering, logistics, and curriculum development, and training support services for the Joint EOD Community.

Technicians working for the office are responsible for locating, identifying and neutralizing unexploded ground and underwater ordnance that includes devices such as sea mines and improvised explosive devices.
