Tetra Tech takes $40M award to build new FAA medical data system

Tetra Tech will build a new system for the FAA to track and analyze medical data of pilots, air traffic controllers and others.
Tetra Tech has captured a $40 million Federal Aviation Administration contract to build a new information system for the tracking and analyzing medical data of pilots, air traffic controllers and other aviation related personnel.
The five-year Aerospace Medicine Safety Information System will replace legacy systems and functions and bring new capabilities to the FAA's Office of Aerospace Medicine. The system will track various medical certifications and clearances such as drug and alcohol testing, drug abatement and medical research.
The new system is intended as a platform for better data accessibility and enhance the ability to analyze medical data to identify safety trends, the company said.
Tetra Tech has supported the FFA’s aviation safety mission for 20 years, according to the company.
