Peraton has hired former DataPath CEO and two-decade telecommunications veteran David Myers as president of the communications sector in a move to take effect Feb. 20.

Myers joins Herndon, Virginia-based Peraton to lead the technology services contractor’s expansion efforts in the government satellite and terrestrial markets. Peraton said Thursday he will oversee business with intelligence, defense, civilian and commercial customers.

Communications is one of several sectors and business units at Peraton under its business structure unveiled last month.

DataPath is a spinout from Rockwell Collins that builds and deploys tactical communications systems for the government, infrastructure, aerospace and broadcasting sectors.

His career also includes executive roles at the former Harris Corp. CapRock business, ITC Global and Spacenet.

Peraton is the former Harris government IT business that private equity firm Veritas Capital acquired last year.
