Alion promotes Dietrich to senior VP

Alion Science and Technology has promoted one of its deputy group managers in Alan Dietrich to senior vice president and manager for the company’s rapid solutions group.

McLean, Virginia-based Alion said Thursday the three-decade aerospace and defense veteran will oversee all systems engineering and integration work plus ISR -- intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

Dietrich joined Alion in late 2016 after nearly four years as an operating partner and senior adviser for several private equity firms with investments in aerospace, defense and security companies.

Prior to that, Dietrich was a group president at DRS Technologies (now Leonardo DRS). He is also a former group president for L-3 Communications (now L3 Technologies) and before that held senior business development and operational leadership positions in Honeywell’s defense and space business.
