Veritas Technologies hires former Agriculture acquisition lead Alboum
Data management outfit Veritas Technologies hires former Agriculture acquisition leader Jonathan Alboum as public sector chief technology officer.
Silicon Valley-based Veritas Technologies has hired former Agriculture Department acquisition leader Jonathan Alboum as chief technology officer for the company's public sector business.
In a Tuesday release, Veritas Public Sector Vice President Tom Kennedy said Alboum joins the company amid a digital transformation in government that involves the need for more data protection, global visibility and centralized multi-cloud data management tools.
More recently, Alboum oversaw USDA's acquisition and purchasing function and led a program that handled almost 70,000 awards worth $6 billion combined per year.
As USDA CIO, he led the development of its IT modernization strategy that focused on cloud computing, networks and information security. Alboum managed almost $3 billion in annual technology spending for USDA.
