Leidos to consolidate Reston HQ

Leidos is consolidating its Reston corporate headquarters from two buildings to one as part of its larger post-Lockheed deal synergy goals.
Leidos said Tuesday it will relocate and consolidate its corporate headquarters in Reston, Va., from two buildings into a single building.
The government services company expects the new building within Reston Town Center to be ready in the first quarter of 2020. Construction is scheduled to get underway this spring.
This new headquarters on President Street will be located less than one-half of a mile away from Science Applications International Corp., which Leidos split from in 2013. Leidos’ current headquarters on Freedom Drive is roughly one mile from the hub of SAIC, which moved to Reston in July from its former home in McLean.
Leidos’ acquisition of the former Lockheed Martin IT business in 2016 resulted in a significant real estate footprint increase that included the segment’s headquarters in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
Real estate consolidation is one of several components in Leidos’ goal to realize $1.3 billion in total cost synergies through 2019. Leidos originally forecasted $1.2 billion in synergies when the transaction was announced in January 2016.
