SAIC takes in $93M Cybercom support task order

Science Applications International Corp. has won a potential five-year, $93 million task order to support operational and joint exercise planning functions at Cyber Command.

The order covers work for one base year and up to four one-year option periods for services to Cybercom’s directorate of operations, SAIC said Wednesday.

Reston, Va.-based SAIC booked the order through its position on a five-year, $460 million contract Cybercom awarded last year for mission support services. Five other companies hold spots on that contract in Booz Allen Hamilton, CACI International, KeyW Corp., Vencore and Parsons Corp. (through its Secure Mission Solutions acquisition).

Cybercom’s directorate of operations -- also known as “J3” -- is responsible for the planning, integration, coordination, execution and force management of cyber warfare missions. J3 also works to coordinate and synchronize offensive and defensive cyberspace operations for the military.

SAIC will help Cybercom in the command’s efforts to secure, operate and defend the Defense Department’s primary information. The company will also support work to coordinate, synchronize and deconflict the military’s cyber forces and cyberspace operations.

The company’s services will also include assistance in development of J3 training objectives, priorities and plans for exercises.
