GSA makes awards on $5B VETS 2 IT services vehicle

The General Services Administration makes awards on its potential 10-year, $5 billion "VETS 2" IT services vehicle for service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses.
The General Services Administration has made dozens of awards on a potential 10-year, $5 billion IT services contract vehicle reserved only for service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses.
In total, GSA announced 70 awards for the Veterans Technology Services 2 contract in a FedBizOpps notice issued Thursday. VETS 2 is the successor to the previous VETS vehicle awarded in 2006 to 44 companies and also for a potential 10-year, $5 billion term.
Awardees will vie for task orders in work areas such as data management, information and communications technology, IT operations and maintenance, software development, systems design, and new and emerging technologies.
VETS 2 is also meant to fulfill demand for commercial and non-commercial IT services as defined in the Clinger-Cohen Act and Federal Acquisition Regulation 2.101, according to a Deltek description of the contract.
GSA received 187 proposals in response to the solicitation issued in April of last year, according to the award notice.
