CGI books $915M State Department passport production contract

CGI Federal will extend its passport production services for the State Department under a new potential five-year, $915 million contract.
CGI Federal has received a new potential five-year, $915 million contract to continue its passport production and passport application processing services for the State Department.
This contract extends CGI’s almost 25 years of passport services work for the department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs and the business has managed the department’s Book Personalization Facilities contract since 2006, CGI said Monday.
The State Department first disclosed the new Passport Production Support Services contract in a July 14 award notice on FedBizOpps. CGI inherited the contract through its 2010 acquisition of the former Stanley Associates civilian business.
Work under the contract also includes customer service support, document and quality control, and mail-out services for the bureau.
CGI says it expects to help print more than 20 million passports and travel cards this year. The company provides visa support services to U.S. embassies and consulates in 70 countries.
