KeyW names Sotera vet Herdman corporate strategy, BD lead

Find opportunities — and win them.

KeyW Corp. continues its post-Sotera integration activity through the appointment of Kirk Herdman as corporate strategy and business development lead.

KeyW Corp. has appointed former Sotera Defense Solutions executive Kirk Herdman as executive vice president of corporate strategy and business development.

The move combines the corporate strategy and business development roles into a single, executive-level function as KeyW continues to integrate the acquisition of Sotera that closed in April. KeyW has a single business development team in place to mark one integration milestone, CEO Bill Weber told Washington Technology in August.

Current KeyW EVP of Business Development Michele Cook will leave the company to pursue other opportunities, KeyW said.

Herdman joined KeyW upon the deal's closure as EVP of corporate strategy and formerly held the role of EVP and chief strategy officer at Sotera. The three-decade veteran joined Sotera in 2009 as senior VP for business development and led the work to create a single centralized BD organization, KeyW said.

His career also includes leadership roles at Wyle, General Dynamics and ManTech International.
