Navy hands down potential $92M higher education IT support contract
Eleven service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses will vie for IT service task orders to support the Navy's higher education arms under a potential five-year, $92.2 million contract.
The Navy has awarded positions on a potential five-year, $92.2 million contract to 11 companies for IT support services to three of the service branch's higher education institutions.
Only service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses were eligible to bid for the contract and the Navy received 18 total proposals.
Members of the Naval Higher Education Information Technology Consortium sought a shared pool of resources to continue their 12-year IT collaboration. The Naval Postgraduate School, Naval War College and the Naval Academy are looking to secure their networks and identity resources that can move into a cloud environment, according to Deltek.
The contract contains one base year that runs to July 2018 along with four one-year options. Awardees will compete for task orders to perform work.
