Arcturus added to potential $475M Special Operations UAS contract

Drone maker Arcturus UAV becomes the third awardee of a potential six-year, $475 million contract for unmanned systems and ISR services to Special Operations Command.
Northern California-based drone maker Arcturus UAV has been added to a potential six-year, $475 million contract for unmanned aerial systems and related services to Special Operations Command.
Arcturus is one of three companies to receive a position on SOCOM's Mid-Endurance Unmanned Aircraft Systems III contract alongside AAI Corp. and Insitu. Socom received eight responsive proposals to the solicitation.
Boeing's Insitu subsidiary and Arcturus filed separate protests in late January and February respectively after Socom first chose Textron's AAI subsidiary for the contract in early January, according to Deltek. The Government Accountability Office dismissed all protests Feb. 22
Awardees will bid for task orders to provide UAS for various missions in support of SOCOM's intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance functions through June 2022.
MEUAS III's total performance term contains a 54-month base period, followed by four 12-month ordering periods and then an additional six-month ordering period.
