Accenture to buy cloud & digital service firm Phase One for Salesforce footprint

Accenture strikes deal for Alexandria-based cloud services provider Phase One to add new Salesforce-based offerings in the federal marketplace.
Accenture has agreed to acquire Alexandria, Va.-based cloud computing and digital services provider Phase One to add new Salesforce-based offerings for use by federal agencies.
Terms of the deal were undisclosed and Phase One will join the global consulting firm's Accenture Federal Services subsidiary upon the transaction's closure.
This is Accenture's first federal market acquisition related to Salesforce. Including Phase One, Accenture has made seven Salesforce-related buys within the past three years.
Founded in 1997, Phase One focuses exclusively on the federal market and helps agencies use the Salesforce cloud platform to carry out modernization and digital transformation projects.
The company offers secure cloud implementation and consulting services to agencies for missions in areas such as national infrastructure, finance and regulatory services, human services, health care and homeland security.
Both Accenture and Phase One hold positions on a potential five-year, $503 million blanket purchase agreement awarded in 2015 by the General Services Administration for Salesforce implementation, integration and consulting services.
The transaction with Accenture concludes a two-year run by RLJ Equity Partners as Phase One's owners. RLJ acquired Phase One in early 2015.
