FedBid reports new Commerce reverse auction contract

FedBid has received a new reverse auction contract from the Commerce Department that represents the company's third such Cabinet-level award in three weeks.
FedBid has disclosed its third reverse auction services contract from a Cabinet agency in three weeks with the newest award coming from the Commerce Department.
The contract with Commerce has one base year with four one-year options and continues services FedBid has offered to the department since 2012. FedBid reported a pair of reverse auction contracts with the Labor and Agriculture Departments in mid-April.
Commerce’s U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded the contract for all department bureaus and offices to acquire commodity goods and services.
Since 2012, the department has awarded nearly $83.6 million in contracts through the FedBid marketplace with 93 percent given to small businesses.
Vienna, Va.-based FedBid reports at least 90,000 sellers in its marketplace.
