Engility, Leidos land DTRA support work

Engility and Leidos have both reported new potential five-year contracts this week with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency for various support services.

The contract to Engility carries a potential value of $35 million over one base year with four option years and is a retention of incumbent work. Engility will continue services in areas such as modeling and simulation, exercises in countering of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction, and subject matter knowledge.

Additional services from Engility include acquisition and program management support, information technology services, mission assurance assessments and nuclear safety-related activities.

Leidos’ contract also is for one base year with four option years at a potential $13 million value. DTRA awarded the contract as a delivery order under its potential 10-year $4 billion Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction vehicle, of which Leidos is seven prime contractors.

The company will help DTRA operate and maintain a central distribution center that delivers weather products to users for assessments of potential WMD releases such as chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives.

DTRA’s Meteorological Data Servers and Numerical Weather Prediction Service also is built to help identify environmental data for use in atmospheric transport and dispersion models to predict potential WMD releases.
