ServiceNow names Blackboard, BMC vet to federal leadership role

Silicon Valley-based cloud firm ServiceNow names former BMC and Blackboard executive Brian Marvin to lead federal sales and oversee automated IT market push.

Silicon Valley-based cloud computing services company ServiceNow has appointed two-decade technology industry veteran Brian Marvin as its vice president of federal sales.

Marvin will be based out of ServiceNow’s office in Washington, D.C. and focus on the company’s push to help agencies adopt information technology management tools with automation features.

He previously led North America commercial and federal sales at Blackboard and his career also includes eight years at BMC Software, where he oversaw government sales.

ServiceNow received a FedRAMP authority-to-operate certification in 2016 to offer the company’s cloud computing platform to federal agencies. The company says at least 100 federal agencies use ServiceNow products.
