PAR names two-decade SAIC vet to CEO role

PAR Technology has appointed current board of directors member and two-decade Science Applications International Corp. veteran Donald Foley to the president and CEO roles in a move that took effect Wednesday.

PAR generated almost 38 percent of its total $229 million revenue in 2015 from U.S. government contract work. Figures for 2016 were not available as the company has delayed the filing of its annual report to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company’s work for federal agencies includes computer-based system design, information management, engineering and technical services to the Defense Department and others.

Foley joined SAIC (now Leidos) in 1991 and held roles at the executive vice president and group president levels. He also was a member of SAIC’s board of directors between 2002 and 2007.

Former CEO Karen Sammon has shifted to a role of chief of staff within PAR’s office of the CEO to focus on the company’s restaurant and retail cloud business, strategic growth initiatives and internal IT system update efforts.
