Abt Associates taps education vet for CIO

Abt Associates has hired two-decade technology services veteran Jorge Elguera to chief information officer at the global research and international development firm.

Elguera previously held the CIO role at Hartman Executive Advisors, where he also served as a managing director and led work to develop the firm’s commercial and higher education practice. That practice is Hartman’s largest business unit.

He is also a 10-year veteran of global higher education company Laureate Education, where he served as CIO and led all technology and business integration functions. Laureate Education credits him with leading growth of its online business to $1 billion.
