Introducing the 2015 Top 25 8(a)s

Find opportunities — and win them.

We rank the largest 8(a) small businesses in the government market, and the numbers this year are a good indication that market might be taking a positive turn.

Each year, we rank the largest 8(a) companies in the government market according to their prime contracting dollars.

This year’s rankings include several Alaska Native and tribally owned companies, but there are still some private companies as well.

We rank the companies each year as a way of identifying successful small businesses in the government market.

This year’s rankings also might indicate that the market may have hit bottom. In 2014, we only had one company with over $100 million in revenue. This year we have two. Last year’s No. 25 had $29 million in prime contracts. This year, No. 25 stands at $40 million.

The rankings are based on the Federal Procurement Data System and we analyze the data using a set of over 700 product and service codes, or PSCs. We use the same codes for our annual Top 100 rankings. The codes represent IT, consulting, professional services, telecommunications and other high-tech products and services. We used fiscal 2014 data.
