Northrop wins $15.9M contract to support IDENT system

Northrop Grumman Information Technology has won a $15.9 million Army contract to support the Defense Department's Automated Biometric Identification System.

Under the contract, Northrop will support the program office with biometric capabilities for the continud of development, maintenance and sustainment of the IDENT system.

The system is a system for storage processing of biometric and associated biographic information for national security, law enforcement, immigration and border management, intelligence, background investigations for national security positions, and associated testing, training, management reporting, planning and analysis, or other administrative uses.

Work will be performed in McLean, Va. The coutract runs through Feb. 28, 2015.

Funding in the amount of $3.1 million is obligated at the time of the award.
