School teaches students how to hack

The Polytechnic Institute of New York University is training students to become proficient hackers so that they can eventually become cyber experts helping businesses and government agencies thwart cyber attacks, The Courier Press reported. Actual hacking is illegal, but exercises have been created that replicate real life situations, from which the students may learn.

NYU-Poly, as the school is known, is now being considered among the best schools for training students with hands-on, mission critical cybersecurity skills, along with Georgia Tech, Purdue and Carnegie Mellon, Courier Press said. Many of the students within this program have lucrative jobs lined up at private cybersecurity consulting firms and banks that are in need of people that can properly identify and correct any vulnerabilities in their networks.
