Accenture captures State work to help logistics

Group of task orders will focus on procurement, asset management and the supply chain.
Accenture has won eight task orders from the State Department to work on its Integrated Logistics Management System that supports its global workforce.
The task orders are part of a 10-year, $200 million blanket purchase agreement for technical and management consulting.
Accenture will work on enhancements to diplomatic mail services, system support to procurement inventory and warehouse management and overall asset management. The goal is to increase efficiency and visibility of State Department’s supply chain, according to Accenture.
The company will support 20,000 system users are 260 embassies and consulates around the world. The system supports fleet management, global inventory optimization analysis and warehouse management support.
Also from the State Department, Accenture is working with the Bureau of Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs to improve its procurement system.
“Accenture is leveraging its global expertise in commercial and government supply chain best practices to help the State Department serve employees and citizens around the world,” said Amy Tener, an Accenture senior executive who leads the work at the department.
