GSA restarts $2.5B e-mail contract

The General Services Administration has reopened its contract for e-mail as a service, which could be worth $2.5 billion.

GSA lost on two of four counts of a bid protest filed in October and has decided to reopen the competition by releasing a new request for quotations.

Proposals are due Dec. 20, with awards expected in the spring.

The RFQ lays out five lots for the contract, which will be a blanket purchase agreement under GSA’s Schedule 70. The five lots are:

• Lot 1: E-mail as a service
• Lot 2: Office automation
• Lot 3: Electronic record management
• Lot 4: Migration services
• Lot 5: Integration services

Lot 1, e-mail as a service, is mandatory for the bidders, as is migration services and integration services. The other two lots are optional.
