CSC will expand logistics assistance to Army Materiel Command

CSC has won two contract modifications from the Army worth a combined $261 million to provide additional information technology and logistics services.

The Army Materiel Command contract modifications call for CSC to continue providing IT and logistics services under the Army’s Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) contract.

The LMP is one of the world’s largest, fully integrated supply chain, maintenance, repair and overhaul, planning and execution solutions. The program is at the center of the Army’s business transformation initiatives, according to a CSC announcement.

Overall, CSC will continue providing comprehensive services required to reengineer and modernize the Army’s logistics processes through the adoption of best commercial business practices and associated technologies, the company said.

Under the terms of the first modification, CSC will support the sustainment of the modernized system; under the second, the contractor formerly known as Computer Sciences Corp. will provide services for future deployment and implementation activities.

Both modifications have two-year periods of performance and were won during CSC's third quarter ending Jan. 1.

CSC first won the LMP contract in 1999 for a fully integrated suite of software and business processes.

CSC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 9 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
