Honeywell to furnish Army with logistics tools

Honeywell Technology Solutions Inc. will provide logistics technology to the Army that supports combat operations under a new contract worth up to $125 million over five years.

Under the contract, Honeywell will provide logistics and maintenance services for combat equipment and supplies, company officials said today. The contractor also will manage inventory and maintain, repair and upgrade equipment and supplies destined for combat operations, the officials said. 

The work is being done as part of the Army Prepositioned Stocks-3 Afloat Program. 

In June, Honeywell announced a 10-year contract with the Marine Corps for prepositioning and logistics support services valued at $700 million if all options are exercised.

Honeywell, based in Phoenix, Ariz., ranks No. 30 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
