Four capture $800M HHS IT contract
HHS awarded a major IT services contract valued at up to $800 million over seven years.
Four companies have won spots on a seven-year, $800 million Health and Human Services Department contract for information technology services.
Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Services, Computer Sciences Corp., Information Innovators Inc. and HMS Technologies Inc. won spots on the task order contract. The IT Services for HHS contract has four functional categories with a three-year base period and four one-year options, according to a notice published on the Federal Business Opportunities Web site on Aug. 31. Two of the categories are set asides for small businesses.
HHS initially wrote a presolicitation notice for the IT services contract in August 2008 and held an industry day in November 2008.
The scope of work includes infrastructure support services, seat management services for approximately 9,000 end users of IT devices; application hosting services and disaster recovery services.
In 2005, HHS hired Unisys Corp. to help standardize its IT operations under a $65 million contract.
