Telkonet Inc. and Mainline Information Systems Inc. have formed a partnership to provide IP video-surveillance technology to the public sector and other markets.
Mainline will provide wired-network capabilities, and Telkonet will offer powerline communications (PLC) technology to address applications where traditional cabling is not a viable option.
The companies plan to focus their combined skills on the education, transportation, retail and government sectors.
The partnership will enable Mainline to expand its video-surveillance offering to better serve customers, said Dennis Gulkis, director of Mainline's video surveillance practice. "Telkonet's PLC technology now makes it possible to enable IP video surveillance anywhere there is power," he said.
Telkonet, based in Germantown, Md., specializes in broadband solutions for energy management, IP surveillance and local-area networking.
Mainline, of Tallahassee, Fla., is a provider of information technology solutions.
