Schambach joins CSC

Former Transportation Security Administration chief information officer Pat Schambach has joined Computer Sciences Corp. to run the company's homeland security business.

Schambach left TSA in 2004 to join Nortel Government Solutions, where he was senior vice president and general manager of e-government and infrastructure solutions.

At CSC, Schambach will be vice president and general manager of homeland security, part of the company's enforcement, security and intelligence division run by Aaron Fuller. He starts Monday.

"We are extremely fortunate that someone of Pat's standing was available," Fuller said.

During a 30-plus-year career in government, Schambach worked at agencies such as the Secret Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives in addition to helping launch TSA.

Schambach will oversee CSC homeland security business, which includes projects involving citizenship and immigration programs at the Homeland Security Department. The company also is working on visa programs and infrastructure projects at DHS.

"What Pat will be able to do is bring his [government] experience to a Tier One integrator and use that as platform for delivering solutions to our customers," Fuller said.

With the coming of a new administration, it is good timing to hire someone such as Schambach, Fuller said, because a new leader in the White House will mean new initiatives and policies at DHS.

"Better than most, Pat understands the challenges faced by the folks in the field," Fuller said.
