Sun signs CDW-G deal

Sun Microsystems Inc. has inked a deal with CDW-Government Inc. to sell its products to federal agencies.

The distribution arrangement gives Sun a new route to customers. The Santa Clara, Calif., company canceled its General Services Administration Schedule 70 contract in 2007 after a protracted public dispute over pricing policies.

Buyers can now get the products through CDW-G's contracts, which include the National Institutes of Health Electronics Commodities Store III and NASA's Solutions for Enterprise-wide Procurement.

In addition, CDW-G has 19 Sun-certified experts available to aid agencies in developing solutions to meet their specific needs, a Sun spokeswoman said. CDW-G will offer asset tagging, imaging and configuration, and large-scale staged delivery and emergency response inventory services.
