Raytheon, SAIC to pursue FAA award together
The two businesses signed a teaming agreement to pursue the Federal Aviation Administration's $100 million air traffic training program contract.
Raytheon Technical Services Co. LLC and Science Applications International Corp. have signed a teaming agreement to pursue the Federal Aviation Administration's $100 million air traffic training program contract.
FAA's Air Traffic Control Optimum Training Solution is conceived as a performance-based system that will train new and current air traffic controllers. The FAA is expected to announce the multiyear, performance-based award in June. The final request for proposal is expected this month.
RTSC's experience in training development and delivery in the commercial, civilian agency and defense markets complements SAIC's expertise in providing engineering, systems integration and software integration and technical services to government and military customers, Raytheon said.
Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. and RTSC earlier signed a partnering deal to go after the FAA contract.
The three companies' capabilities will allow us to provide the FAA with the best-value solutions to achieve its training objectives, said Blaine Salvador, vice president of the Mission Support Solutions product line at RTSC.
SAIC of San Diego ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
