Pa. county awards Tyler software deal

Tyler Technologies Inc. has won a $1.9 million contract from Bedford County, Pa., to provide property assessment software and reappraisal services.

The Dallas-based company will undertake a complete reappraisal of 36,500 parcels of residential property in the county. To carry out the task, Tyler plans to collect parcel data for use in assigning accurate valuations.

As part of the agreement, Tyler will furnish the county with its iasWorld Software. The software package includes applications that handle computer-assisted mass appraisal, assessment administration and inquiry/appeals tracking and tax extensions. These applications will enable the county to effectively manage and administer assessment data, the company said.

Bedford County, which is located in the south-central part of the state, is home to more than 50,000 people.
