CGI wins EPA financials deal

CGI Federal Inc. of Fairfax, Va., has received a $84 million award from the Environmental Protection Agency to be its shared-services provider for its Financial System Modernization Project. EPA is the first large agency to migrate to a shared provider under the Financial Management Line of Business.

EPA's 10-year award to CGI is the first for a large system procurement conducted by a CFO Act agency under the FMLOB. It also marks the first time an agency conducted a full and open FMLOB competition across both public and private sector shared-services providers holding them to the same standards in offer evaluation, said Donna Morea, GCI's president of U.S. operations.

EPA will use CGI to modernize its financial system to CGI's Momentum software and migrate EPA's financial system IT hosting and application management to CGI as a commercial shared-services provider under the FMLOB.

CGI provides hosting of its Momentum financial system for the General Services Administration, the Administrative Office for the U.S. Courts and the Corporation for National and Community Services, CGI said.
