Aquilent lands VA content management deal

Aquilent Inc. of Laurel, Md., has been awarded a Veterans Affairs Department task order to establish an integrated content strategy framework for the agency's Enterprise Content Management System.

The task order was awarded through Centech Group Inc.'s VA Global IT Support Services vehicle. Aquilent will provide the analytical and preparatory work for implementing the content management system. The vendor will analyze the existing content and current content production lifecycle; perform a content inventory; identify content gaps; develop content retirement processes and migration strategy; and establish a roadmap for the content management system implementation.

The task order has a base period of nine months with options for metadata and taxonomy development. The work is part of VA's overall Web Hosting and Consolidation project to create a OneVA IT framework that supports the integration of information across business lines and provide a source of consistent, reliable and secure information.

Aquilent will work with VA to identify business requirements, evaluate the "as-is" and document the "to-be" content lifecycles, create a comprehensive information architecture and content model and formulate and implement a unified content strategy for the enterprise.
